How do I book a ride?
You can book online through our website, call us at (888) 320-2041, or have your healthcare facility schedule on your behalf. We accept same-day bookings when availability allows.
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. We work with Medicaid and major managed care organizations across Texas. Eligible members pay nothing out of pocket for covered medical transportation.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the Greater Houston metropolitan area including Katy, Sugar Land, Pearland, The Woodlands, Missouri City, Cypress, Spring, Humble, Baytown, and surrounding communities.
How much does a ride cost?
Pricing depends on distance, service type (ambulatory, wheelchair, stretcher), and trip type. Use our free ride estimator on the homepage for an instant quote, or call for a personalized quote.
Are your vehicles wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Our ADA-compliant vans feature hydraulic lifts, secure wheelchair tie-downs, and extra interior space. All drivers are trained in safe wheelchair loading and securing.
Can I schedule recurring rides?
Absolutely. We specialize in recurring medical transport — dialysis, chemotherapy, physical therapy, and regular doctor visits. Set your schedule once and we handle the rest.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We recommend booking 24-48 hours in advance for guaranteed availability. Same-day bookings are available when possible. For recurring rides, we set up your schedule in advance.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand plans change. Please cancel at least 2 hours before your scheduled pickup. Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in fees.
Do your drivers help patients to the door?
Yes. We provide door-to-door and door-through-door service. Our drivers assist patients from their home to the vehicle and from the vehicle into the medical facility.
Are your drivers background checked?
Yes. All MedCare drivers undergo comprehensive background checks, drug testing, and are CPR-certified. Your safety and trust are our top priorities.
Do you provide wait-and-return service?
Yes. For short appointments, our driver can wait and bring you home. For longer visits, we schedule a separate return pickup at your preferred time.
Can healthcare facilities partner with MedCare?
Absolutely. We offer dedicated NEMT partnerships for hospitals, dialysis centers, nursing homes, and clinics. Benefits include net-30 invoicing, dedicated dispatch, and volume pricing. Visit our Facilities page to learn more.
What types of appointments do you transport for?
Any medical appointment — dialysis, chemotherapy, physical therapy, doctor visits, specialist consultations, hospital discharges, lab work, imaging, and more.
Is MedCare HIPAA compliant?
Yes. We maintain full HIPAA compliance. We provide BAAs for facility partners, encrypt patient data, and train all staff on privacy requirements.
Do you operate on weekends?
We operate Monday through Saturday, 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Sunday service may be available for pre-scheduled recurring rides.
